Told from the first-person perspective of someone who came from a "normal" life but who was thrust suddenly and powerfully into the political spotlight, Yang is a truthteller on fundamental aspects of the political process not easily visible to an outside observer. From his inimitable perspective, Yang identifies and articulates solutions to some of the nation's most pressing problems-- a failure to combat hyper-partisan politics due to an increasing institutionalization of America's political parties, and the media's complicity in this process due to its capitalist nature-- in a way not easily stated by others. In a clear, understandable, and engrossing way, Yang diagnoses and details solutions to these problems from his unique perspective. This is a *must read* for anyone interested in changing the political process and who is serious about trying to solve the problems that America faces today. He is very candid and funny - I feel like Yang is providing an authentic picture of what was going on in his head. but more importantly, his personal account sheds a lot of light on the biases and problems with mainstream media. I still have serious issues about Trump, but Andrew Yang illustrates his wisdom brilliantly in "Forward." This book embedded in my mind to continue hating Trump, but not to hate his supporters. Yang pointed out so many things about the vetocracy America is in. "I may not be able to get things done, but I can keep you from doing anything. The economy has been broken forever, or so it seems and as Yang said. Trump is not the cause of America's political demise, he's a symptom of the disease. Yang wants open primaries, an end to the electoral voting system and so much more for sanity in American politics. Anyone whose concerned or curious about American politics, "Forward" is a must read. This book needs to be a required read for all American students in my humble opinion. Yang points out the political pollution, and documents how to clean things up. Fantastic read.
